Hunting Lodge Housekeeping: A Turnover List Built From Your Bookings
The cleaning between one party and the next is the job most hunting lodges still run on a phone call. Someone checks the booking calendar, works out which cabins empty out tomorrow and who’s coming in behind them, and texts the housekeeper a list that’s out of date the moment a hunt moves. On the Business plan, Hunt Outfitter now gives your housekeeper their own login and builds that list for them from the lodging assignments you’ve already made.
The turnover list
When a housekeeper signs in, the first thing they see is the turnover list: every room, cabin or house that empties out over the next two weeks, in date order. Each row shows the checkout day, when the next group checks in and how many people are in it, and how many empty nights sit between the two. When there aren’t any, the row says same-day turnover, which is the one your housekeeper needs to plan the morning around. The notes you’ve written on the stay come along too, so “extra cot in the back room” or “early arrival, ready by noon” reaches the person doing the work.
There’s no second list for anyone to keep up to date. The rows come straight from your lodging assignments, so a rescheduled hunt or a cancelled booking changes the list on its own.
Cleaning tasks, assigned in one click
From the same list on your side, each row has a Create cleaning task button. It creates a task called “Turn over” plus the unit’s name, due on the checkout day, with the next check-in and headcount already in the description, and assigns it to the housekeeper you pick. They get an email and an in-app notification, and they tick it off when the cabin’s done, which shows up on your list as Cleaned. Clicking the button twice won’t send the same task twice. Housekeepers can also log their own expenses, such as a run to town for supplies, so the receipt doesn’t end up in a coat pocket.
What your housekeeper can’t see
A housekeeper needs to know who’s arriving, but not how to reach them, so the turnover list shows client names and nothing else: no phone numbers, no email addresses, no other contact details. That rule is enforced where the data is fetched rather than just hidden on the screen. Housekeepers also don’t get booking checklists, trip packets or the guide pages your field staff use. Their menu is three items long: Housekeeping, Camp Tasks and Expenses.
Adding a housekeeper
You can invite a housekeeper from Settings → Team, or from the Housekeepers page alongside your guides and cooks, where you can also add someone to the roster before they’re ready to log in. If someone on your team already has a login (a cook who also turns over the cabins, say), you can add the housekeeper role to the account they already have. Housekeepers get their own invitation email explaining what their portal is for. The housekeeping help article covers each step.
Which plans include it
The housekeeper role and turnover list are part of the Business plan at $179 a month (and Elite), alongside the cook role and kitchen tools. The lodging they’re built on (setting up rooms and cabins, assigning bookings and the occupancy grid) starts on the Solo plan at $59; we walk through it in managing hunting lodge rooms and cabins.
