Hunting Stand Assignments Your Hunters Can Find Before Daylight
Every outfitter who hunts from stands knows the 4:45 a.m. version of this problem. The hunter in the truck has a hand-drawn map, a text from last night that says “second gate, left at the feeder,” and a guide on the radio who’s walking someone else in. Stands in Hunt Outfitter puts that knowledge into the system once and hands each hunter a link that always shows where they’re sitting next.
Your stands, entered once
On Stands, under Hunts, each stand or blind gets a name, an optional hunt area, and up to three map pins: where to park, the stand itself, and the feeder. You add a note for the hunter (“climb from the back side; the ladder’s on the north face”), a separate note for your staff that hunters never see, and one photo, which for most outfitters is an aerial with the walk-in marked on it. Stands you stop hunting can be deactivated rather than deleted, and Preview hunter page on any stand shows you exactly what a hunter will get. The stands help article walks through the setup step by step.
The day’s board
The Stand board lays out one day at a time: every hunter whose hunt covers that date, grouped by hunting party, each with a Morning, Evening or All day sit to fill. If you put a hunter on a stand that someone outside their party already holds for that sit, the board asks before it lets you, so a father and son in the same blind go straight through while two strangers on one ladder stand get a second look. Each sit can carry its own staff note, and your guides get the same board for the hunters they’re guiding, so the person who knows the wind that morning can move a hunter without calling the office.
The link the hunter keeps
Each booking gets one link, and it needs no login and no app. It always shows the hunter’s next sit: the morning stand until noon, then the evening one, with the stand’s name, your note, the photo, and Parking, Stand and Feeder buttons that open in Google Maps or onX. When you move them to a different stand, the same link shows the new one, so you can send it once at the start of the hunt. It shows nothing else about the booking (no names, phone numbers, booking codes or other hunters), it stops working the day after the hunt ends, and if it gets forwarded where it shouldn’t, Rotate link replaces it on the spot.
Hunt Outfitter doesn’t text the link for you yet; you copy it and send it in the thread you already have with the hunter. For young hunters, the link is shared through a parent rather than sent to the minor directly, the same way guardian signing for minors keeps the parent in the loop.
Which plans include it
Stands comes with the Solo plan at $59 a month and every plan above it: Pro at $79, Business at $179, and Elite. It’s new this fall and still marked Beta in the app. If you house your hunters too, the same plans include lodge room and cabin assignments. If you already run your hunts in Hunt Outfitter, open Stands under Hunts and add your first one; if you don’t, try a paid plan free for 14 days and see how your season looks with every sit on one board.
