Add a hunt type

Create a hunt type — the species, duration, pricing, and logistics for a kind of hunt you offer.

A hunt type is the foundation of everything you sell. It defines a species, duration, price, and logistics for one kind of hunt (for example 'Spring Bear' or 'Rocky Mountain Elk'). Seasons, bookings, and pricing all hang off it, so it's the first thing to set up.

Create one

1. Go to Hunts in the sidebar and choose Add Hunt.
2. Step 1 — Details: name it, set the species, duration in days, guiding ratio, and an optional description.
3. Step 2 — Pricing & logistics: choose package or day-rate pricing, set the price per person, deposit %, optional license fee, optional access fee, and optionally the hunt area, meeting point, inclusions/exclusions, and cancellation policy.
4. Save. You can add pricing variations (e.g. 1-on-1 vs 2-on-1, or Unguided for access-only hunts) on the same form.

Two kinds of flat fee

The license fee is for government tags and licenses you pass through at cost — it isn't taxed and bills as its own line. The access fee is your own flat charge per hunter — a ranch access or trespass fee, for example — charged once per booking no matter how long the trip runs. It's taxed like the hunt price and folds into the deposit and balance. You can rename how it appears to clients ('Access fee', 'Trespass fee', 'Ranch fee'…).

Unguided hunts

Choose the 'Unguided' guiding ratio for hunts where no guide is included — access-only ranch hunts, for instance. Pair it with day-rate pricing (a daily rate plus the flat access fee), or with a package price when hunters pay a single flat fee for access regardless of days. Unguided bookings simply never get a guide assigned. If only certain clients — members, say — may book unguided, keep the hunt type on 'Request to book' so you approve each request.
