Add-ons and Cancellation Protection

Sell extras alongside a hunt, and offer a cancellation-fee waiver your client elects at signing — both print right on the contract.

Add-ons let you sell anything alongside a hunt — an extra night, a range session, trophy prep — as its own catalog item, priced flat or as a percentage of the hunt's own price. Add one to a booking and it settles into the same invoice as everything else.

Cancellation Protection

Cancellation Protection is a fee-waiver policy you set, not an insurance product — Hunt Outfitter isn't an insurer, and this isn't trip insurance. You decide the percentage; if your client elects it, they're agreeing to pay that fee in exchange for you waiving some or all of your normal cancellation penalty if they have to cancel.

Two modes, your choice

  • Sell — your own fee-waiver product, priced as a percentage and billed like any other add-on.
  • Advise — no product of yours. Instead, the contract records that you recommended your client look into third-party trip-cancellation insurance, and that they acknowledged it.

A percentage-priced row is calculated against the hunt's own price — license fees, access fees, and tax are never part of that base.

How a client elects it

When Cancellation Protection is on, the signing flow asks your client to elect or decline before they can finish signing — no skipping past it. You (or an admin) can also set the election directly on a booking outside of signing.

The contract's cover sheet prints the total, deposit, and balance, every billed add-on line, and the Cancellation Protection election — Elected, Declined, or the Advise acknowledgment — so a client can see exactly what they agreed to without re-reading the whole document.

If you sync to QuickBooks or FreshBooks (Business plan), the provider invoice is created once, on the first synced payment, and isn't updated after that. An add-on or Cancellation Protection fee billed later won't appear on the synced invoice automatically — add it by hand on the accounting side, or watch for the "Accounting invoice out of date" banner.

Add-ons and Cancellation Protection are on the Solo, Pro, Business, and Elite plans.
