End of Hunt Reports
A written record of every hunt, drafted by the guide and reviewed by you — plus BC's 30-day filing reminder if it applies to you.
An End of Hunt Report is a written summary of how a hunt went, drafted by the guide from their own field notes and reviewed by you before it's final. It gives every hunt a closing record, whether or not there's anything to file with a regulator.
How it moves
- Draft — the guide is writing it. Reopen it any time before they submit.
- Submitted — the guide has sent it to you for review.
- Accepted — you've signed off. Or Waived, if you decide the hunt doesn't need one.
You can send an accepted report back to Submitted, or a waived one back to Draft, if something needs a second look.
Where the draft comes from
When a guide starts a report, it's pre-filled from field notes on that hunt — their own, plus any teammate's notes on the same hunt that weren't marked private. It works offline: a guide can draft, edit, and submit with no signal, and it syncs when they're back in range.
British Columbia: the 30-day guide report
BC requires a licensed guide outfitter to submit a guide report to the regional manager within 30 days of a hunt's end. For BC organizations, Hunt Outfitter adds a deadline countdown, an overdue badge, and reminder emails at 7 and 14 days after the hunt concludes, plus a place to mark the filing as sent.
Hunt Outfitter is not the filing system. It reminds you and gives you the written record to file from — it doesn't submit anything to the province on your behalf, and marking a report filed here is your own record, not a submission.
End of Hunt Reports are on the Solo, Pro, Business, and Elite plans. The BC filing deadline and reminders only appear for organizations set to Canada / British Columbia — everyone else just gets the report itself.
Reviewing the queue
Open the Insights tab to see reports waiting on you, grouped by status. Accept, waive, or send one back with a note for the guide.
